She’s Expecting a Girl!~Santa Cruz Maternity Photographer

And let’s just hope that the Dr. didn’t make a mistake reading the ultrasound! This is my middle daughter and as you might have seen by a couple of the previous posts, she has had two very PINK baby showers! Most of the basics are neutral, but the room, her closet full of pink clothes and a drawer full of headbands are not going to work so well on a little boy. As my daughter recently said, “I sure hope she’s a girl!” I hope so too!

When I was down in Santa Barbara for her shower, we did a quick maternity session. We borrowed a friends yard and I’m telling you, I could have shot there all day. It is gorgeous!!

Baby K~Santa Barbara Newborn Photographer

This little darlin’ had a mind of her own and sleep was not in her agenda! After waiting her out, we finally got a couple of her sleeping peacefully (but I mean just a couple). As soon as we’d try to move her, she was wide awake! Even the sound of the shutter was waking her up! Fortunately for her Mama (and me), we’re friends and I can take photos of her often, which is good, because I feel like I owe her. I really really like my clients to be 110% satisfied and me not getting enough images doesn’t please me, so I will make it right. In the meantime, until we try again, here is one of Little Baby K sleeping ever so soundly!

Little Miss T~Santa Barbara Newborn Photographer

It’s been quite awhile since I’ve done a newborn session at a clients home. I was a little nervous going into it (you never know if you’ll have adequate natural light indoors) but their house had fantastic light! After doing some of the tradition indoor shots, we moved outside and had fun using a few props and moving Tate around the yard. It ended up being a great session, both indoors and out!

Little Miss Tate was great (and adorable I must add)! She let us move her around without a fuss and loved her nap in the PeaPod!

The Boy Had a One Track Mind….~Santa Cruz Baby Photographer

….and it was all about eating the leaves! It didn’t matter how many times we moved him (or the leaves), he’d hurry into his little “army crawl” (because it’s much faster than actually crawling) and find the nearest leaf. And of course, the next thing to do is to attempt to eat it! He’s already such a boy! Loves to eat, sleep and get dirty!

Since I did’t have a recent session to post, and needed to get my blog fix, I thought I’d share a little Beckett park time with you all. It was really more about playing than picture taking, so please forgive the harsh sun and quickie edits.

Cousins~Santa Cruz Photographer

What fun this was!! These two little guys are cousins and just happen to be two of Beckett’s best friends (their moms all went to college together). I just think it is so sweet that they all had babies within a few months of each other. I love that they are still great friends and have each other to share in the joy of raising their sons.

I’m not sure we set up the photo session to get the best results however. We thought we’d set up and then “cycle” a baby in for a photo turn, then we’d change the scene and repeat. Well, without fail, the baby whose turn it was, wasn’t necessarily happy at that given moment. So we’d change the prop with the intentions of getting back to it……..well, with three little ones (ages 5-10 months), three young moms and me (who was having lots of fun just playing with the babies and visiting with the moms), we didn’t quite get all the shots we’d planed for

Oh well, they’re friends and I have no doubt they’ll let me have another session in the near future with their little guys!

You’ve already seen Beckett’s little bare bottom in the Halloween card below, but wanted to share the other two with you also.

Meet Finn, he wasn’t too sure of me and my camera but he sure is a cutie!

And here’s Gavin, he is always full of big smiles and has his Mommy’s wonderful lashes!

Not only do you get ALL the digital images (edited images from your gallery) for cards, scrapbooking, printing, sharing, but it also includes an 11×14 Wall Portrait (which would make a great gift or keep for yourself), 3 mini accordian albums (parents & grandparents love these) and a $100 print credit!

The next package is also a great deal, but provides you with only 3 digital images.

And lastly, if you don’t care about getting the digital images, you can go the standard session route. Pay your session fee and make all your purchases ala-carte.

Fab Four,
You girls have such a special relationship, one to be cherised for sure! It’s not often that upon college graduation your best friends are still your high school friends. Or in your case, you go back to nursery school and elementary! You are very blessed! Jen, I miss you so much and can’t wait for you to get home so I can see all of you again!!
I love you girls and thank you for letting me take beach photos of you again!
