Session Info

Regular Session Info

I consider my style to be casual and comfortable. All sessions (except newborn) are now done on-location. Santa Cruz has many beautiful parks and beaches to choose from.

My goal is for you and your child(ren) to have fun! I want to capture real smiles and will take the time needed to achieve the perfect session. I don’t rush through any of my sessions, allowing for clothing changes, potty breaks or a quick little snack.

Newborn Session Info

My newborn sessions are designed for babies less than 3 weeks old. Ideally, 7-14 days is best. This is the perfect age to still get those “sleepy, squishy, curled up” shots. All of my newborn sessions are done in the comfort of your home. I will bring along everything that I need, including: backdrops, baskets, hats/bows, blankets, wraps, and even studio lighting if needed. While a newborn session focuses on your new little one, I always like to get a couple of shots with the parents and siblings. More info can be found under the “what to expect/newborn” tab.

FAQS

What does your session fee include?  Your session fee includes my time during the session, my editing time, uploading your gallery, design and creation time, and placing & packaging your order.

What about re-edits? A typical gallery shows most photos in color with a few in B&W. If you have a preference to B&W images, please let me know prior to your session. All edits are final. As your photographer, I edit each photo as I best envision the finished product. While some photos just scream to be in color, others look best in B&W.

Do you schedule sessions on the weekend? I typically work weekdays, but know that sometimes, that isn’t possible. I will schedule appointments on Saturdays, but do not work on Sundays.

Do you have clothing recommendations? It depends on the session and your style. I always recommend thinking about where the portraits will be hung. What is your decorating style? Do you consider your family to be formal or casual? For a child’s session, I recommend casual and comfortable. I love bright and fun, with just the right amount of sass! While soft colors are nice, I do suggest not too much white. Also, please avoid clothing with big logos or characters on them. You can certainly bring along a couple of clothing options.

How long does a session last? A typical session lasts 1-2 hours, with newborn sessions averaging about 3-4 hours. I like to allow plenty of time for your child to get comfortable with me. I will never rush through a session.

Can I cancel? Session fees are non-refundable, but I’ll gladly work with you to re-schedule if your child is sick. We can also reschedule outdoor sessions if it rains.

Do you offer refunds? Due to the custom nature of photography, I do not offer refunds on printed products or session fees.

What is your turnaround time? After your order has been placed, please allow two weeks to receive your items. Certain custom items, such as canvases, can take a little longer.
