Alisha’s Journey

Cancer sucks. Plain and simple. Cancer sucks.

You would never know by looking at this beautiful young mom that she has cancer. Look at her. I mean LOOK at her. She is beautiful, inside and out. How can a 28 year old healthy fit mom be diagnosed with cancer? I’m telling you, it sucks big time!

In a nutshell, doing a routine self exam, she noticed a lump. But, given her age, family history and healthy lifestyle, she wasn’t too concerned. Fast forward…the findings on the ultrasound required a mammogram, the findings of the mammogram required meeting with the radiologist. Then a biopsy. The meeting with the Dr for the results began with, “I’m afraid I have bad news…”

Please head over to Alisha’s facebook page, ALISHA’S JOURNEY to read her complete story. And PLEASE, keep Alisha and her entire family (especially her husband and 19 month old son) in your prayers!

I had the honor of getting to photograph Alisha and her son Van this week. She kept telling me what a blessing and gift I was giving to her, but really, I’m the one that received the gift. I truly believe that Alisha is a blessing to everyone she meets and that her faith will get her through this.

Thank you Alisha, for allowing me to be a little part in your big journey. I’ll be ready, camera in hand, when you kick cancer’s butt and are ready for next years photos!!
