I’ve posted before about my weight loss journey, and while I’m still within the “keep it off” range on the scale (within a couple pounds of my lowest), I’ve decided that I’m not quite satisfied yet. I was really thrilled when I had to go out and buy new pants, but I’m feeling a bit too comfortable and don’t want to start gaining. Before my weight loss, I was wearing a size 12 pant (occasionally a 14) and now I’m comfortably wearing a size 10 and have even bought a couple of 8’s. Let me tell you, I haven’t been an 8 since I don’t know when (if ever).
This is what I’ve lost:
Well actually, it’s more like 23#’s but who’s counting? It doesn’t sound like a lot, but I urge you to go to Costco (or wherever you can buy bulk potatoes) and pick up a 20# bag and carry it around for a while. All of a sudden, 20#’s feels like a ton. Imagine how much better I feel NOT carrying around those extra pounds.
I was talking to my husband this morning, and told him that even though I haven’t gained back any of the weight, I feel too comfortable where I’m at. I guess I’ve gotten used to wearing a smaller size. So, it’s back on LoseIt (an iPad app) for me. Healthy, low carb, low calorie eating!
This is how much more I’d like to lose by summer:
Now, the only problem is that I have lots of potatoes and butter in my house. Add some heavy cream and you’ve got yourself some yummy mashed potatoes. I love mashed potatoes! But, I’m not going to be making any in the near future. I think I’ll find a food bank to donate the potatoes and freeze the butter for my occasional baking.
