Another sweet little one from my time with Ana. I loved being able to capture a few shots with her Mama & Daddy too!
Michael was our baby boy when Ana spent the day with Aimee and I at the studio. We played with different lighting, posing, wraps, etc. There is always more to learn and Ana is the person to learn it from. She owns a very successful photography business down in Tustin, CA.
Thank you Laura for sharing your beautiful children with us!
I was fortunate and blessed to be able to spend a day with photographer and mentor Ana Brandt of TAoPaN (the art of pregnancy and newborn). She is incredible! My studio partner, Aimee, booked her into the studio for a two day mentoring session, but due to my schedule (I was on Nana duty) I only got to spend one day. Ana is a wealth of knowledge in every aspect of photography and business! During day one, we shot three sessions (one maternity and two newborn) and talked a little business. We literally didn’t even sit down to eat. We were go, go, go.
I We was were lucky that my niece was our maternity model. She is gorgeous and her daughter is just so sweet!
Kimberley, thank you so much, you were incredible! And, you absolutely do not look like you are pregnant with baby #3 due in just a few weeks. AMAZING!
I haven’t done a lot of maternity sessions, so this was fairly new to me. It was a new style (slightly on the boudoir side). We focused on posing and lighting and I now know that I will definitely be offering these sessions in the future. In fact, just today, I ordered some very fun (and slightly sexy) maternity wear for the studio.
While I know this type of session is not for everyone, it’s great to be able to offer both this and a more natural outdoor maternity session.
Thank you again Ana and I’ll definitely take you up on your offer to visit you at your Tustin studio. XOXO
Not all newborn photographers will take a newborn session when the baby is a month old. The preferable age (for sleepiness and flexible curled poses) is under two weeks of age. I, however, can never seem to say no. Often parents haven’t thought about newborn photos or are too overwhelmed to even think about booking a session. I know that a family will cherish their newborn photos, whether they’re 10 days or 30 days old. I always explain that we might not get some of the poses or that some of the props might be too small (depending on the size of their little one), but that we’ll do what we can.
Sylvie was a perfect example of a one month old session. She slept like a champ!
Here’s a little peek of her session.
