Renee Whiting Photography-Santa Cruz, CA Photographer » Santa Cruz, CA Newborn and Child Photographer

  • Welcome to Renee Whiting Photography

I'm a part-time on-location photographer in Santa Cruz, CA, specializing in newborns and toddlers. I love my sessions with the little ones and hope it shows in my work. If you like what you see, I hope you'll use the "contact" button and drop me an email so we can get a session scheduled for you. If you are interested in scheduling a newborn session, please contact me approx. a month before your due date and I'll "pencil" you in.

All newborn sessions are now done in the comfort of your home. I will bring along everything I need, including: backdrops, hats/bows, blankets, wraps, baskets and even studio lighting if needed.

All other sessions are done outdoors. Santa Cruz offers many beautiful settings including one of our many parks or beaches.

Along with photography, I love entertaining, whether it's hosting a party, a large family BBQ or simply a dinner for two. I also enjoy gardening, my home, an occasion craft and family & friends. Don't be surprised if you see a post totally non-photography related. It's just who I am, a little mish-mash of this and that.

Please be aware that I'm currently at that "time" in my life when I'm often out of town. We love to travel whether it's for business or pleasure. Combine that with our children and grand babies that live out of town and you never know where you'll find me. Given my irregular schedule please know that I'm not always available on a short notice.

    Blessings,
    Renee

Let me tell you about this cute little thing…….first, she was due on Dec. 19 (or maybe it was the 17th) but didn’t arrive until Christmas Eve! Second, her photo session took about as long as her labor & delivery……days!  Are you sensing a pattern yet?? Stubborn maybe? A mind of her own?  Third, she did not want to sleep for her session! We tried waiting it out on day one, but she won! Day two started off about the same, but we finally wore her out and she crashed!  Don’t get me wrong, she was never fussy, just had other things on her mind; like being awake, pee’ing (multiple times and not in a diaper) , pooping (down the front of my white blouse), hiccups, feeding and even losing her umbilical during her photo session.

Ahhhw, finally into la-la land she drifted!

Please meet my new niece, Paige Lauren!

Merry Christmas to all my clients, family and friends!

I first want to thank all my family & friends for believing in me and encouraging me! I’ve had a great year with my photography and couldn’t have done it without the help and support that you’ve all given to me. And a special thank you to my clients for allowing me to be a little part of your life, for believing in me and trusting me to capture your special moment. Whether it be photographing your baby bump, newborn or family, each session is special in its own way and I’ve truly felt blessed to be apart of that moment.

I absolutely love what I do and am looking forward to sharing 2010 with you! I am excited to announce a few changes in January and hope you’ll continue to follow my blog, because along with some changes will come a few specials that I’m sure you won’t want to miss out on!

But, until then, Merry Christmas from my family to yours!! And of course, what’s a post without a photo? So here’s our sweet little Beckett all decked out in his Christmas jammies!

…TONIGHT!! Well, that’s what the expectant parents are hoping for! Their due date has come and gone and they certainly don’t want to be in the hospital on Christmas and miss out on all the family festivities, so, “SANTA, PLEASE MAKE THEIR DELIVERY TONIGHT!!”

We did their maternity photos a few weeks ago, but I couldn’t share these, because they were maybe going to use them for their Christmas card and I didn’t want to ruin the surprise, but they’ve decided to forego cards this year in hopes that their little one makes her appearance before Christmas!

I guess family and friends are just going to have to wait for their birth announcement! It will be good, I promise!

In case you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m Aunt Renee to this couple and am anxiously awaiting the arrival of little Miss Paige!

Every year I make pounds and pounds of homemade Rocky Road Candy! It is SO good!

This year my middle daughter thought it would be fun to make it together when I came down for a visit. She was right! It’s definitely more fun to be up to your elbows in chocolate with someone else. We made multiple batches and this year we’ll both be giving it out to friends, co-workers and neighbors.

The first step in making it is to put on a cute holiday apron and crank up the Christmas music!

It’s really very easy, just three simple ingredients: good milk chocolate, marshmallows and pecans (or walnuts).  That’s it!

CHOP……….MELT………MIX…….LET SET………AND PACKAGE IT UP!

Gorgeous, Renee! It’s packaged so beautifully, I would have a hard time opening it and eating it. Ok, who am I kidding. I would rip through that like a tornado in Kansas but still. You ought to sell that stuff at the Farmer’s Market!! I bet people would buy it by the truckload.ReplyCancel
