Not quite a newborn, William came for his session at 7 weeks old.
There are definitely benefits as to why “newborn sessions” need to be done within the first two weeks, because as we soon learned, 7 week olds don’t fall into that “milk-drunk” pose me as you’d like deep deep sleep. Normally once a newborn falls into that deep sleep, you can pose them, take the shots, move them, pose them again and do this for quite a few shots before they’ll wake back up. Not a 7 week old! He was awake for most of the session and was a mover! His little arms and legs were moving the entire time, making it a little difficult to pose him, because he’d move right out of the pose before I could get the shot off. We did get him to “snooze” a few times, but as soon as we’d move him into a new pose, he’d wake right up.
Thankfully, however, his parents were extremely patient and we did outlast him and managed to get a good variety of shots! I hope you enjoy your little sneak peak!
