I helped to host a baby shower this past weekend and I was in charge of decorations. The shower was going to be at my sister-in-laws and while we were keeping it simple, there was one wall opposite the food table that was screaming for some sort of decoration. The baby’s nursery is decorated in a semi nautical/beach theme, in primary colors, so that is where my inspiration came from.
I decided to make some bunting (or pennants or flags).
If anyone is interested in the how to, here are the simple steps I took. I know that a couple of posts down, I stressed the “rule following” for proper sewing, but it’s okay to break the rules when you’re crafting
Select the perfect fabrics. Gather all materials needed for project. Make a pattern (I made mine from a piece of 11×14 computer paper). Pin pattern onto fabric and cut.
Sew as needed (I made mine two sided). Since I wanted a more nautical look, I used rope to hang the flags (you could use ribbon). Tape & pin end of rope and thread through opening in fabric.
This is how I sewed mine together. Don’t judge the quality, this was a quick craft project.
Stay tuned to see the finished project on display at the shower.
